From Kenyan Farms to Your Table: The Sweetunda Story Arrives at D’ Taste of Home

Every snack has a story. And the story of Sweetunda is one that begins in the lush farmlands of Kenya.
Back in 2015, a bold idea took root: What if we could create more income for farmers while saving the fruits and vegetables that too often go to waste after harvest? That idea grew into Sweetunda—a company dedicated to reducing post-harvest loss by transforming fresh produce into delicious, long-lasting snacks.
Picture this: mangoes ripened under the African sun, pineapples picked at their sweetest, and raspberries bursting with flavor. Instead of being lost, these fruits are carefully dried and processed into vibrant, nutrient-packed snacks. Each bite carries not just taste, but the hard work and resilience of the farmers who made it possible.
Fast forward to June 2024—D’ Taste of Home joined forces with Sweetunda to bring this story across the ocean. For us, it wasn’t just about stocking shelves; it was about connecting people in North America with a taste of Africa’s farms, ingenuity, and heart.
Now, you can find Sweetunda’s iconic dried fruits—perfect for smoothies or as a quick snack—and their wholesome granola blends that pair beautifully with yogurt. And between you and me, the granola? It’s easily become my favorite way to start the day.
Every time you open a pack of Sweetunda, you’re not just enjoying a snack—you’re tasting a story of sustainability, empowerment, and the beauty of food that would have otherwise been lost.
From Kenyan farms to your table, this is more than a partnership. It’s a journey we’re excited to share with you. 🌍✨
